The third project of IMIP is PT.ITSS’s 1 million t/a stainless steel continuously casting slabs and 2×150 MW thermal power plant. With a total investment of over USD 800 million, the construction started on July 28,2015, and 1 million t/a of stainless steel continuously casting slabs will be produced after completion, generating annual sales revenue of about USD 2.2 billion. The project will attract other Chinese or Indonesian manufacturers to settle in the Park and build downstream stainless steel processing plants.
Nine other projects in the Park include PT.DSS’s 1 million t/a stainless steel continuously casting slabs;PT.SZH’s 10,000 t/a nickel equivalent project;PT·IMIP’s 100,000-ton bulk cargo wharf and supporting facilities for the Park and 1,780 mm hot rolling plates of 3 million t/a stainless steel.
An international route between 50,000-ton wharf in Ningde,China and IMIP wharf,Indonesia has been opened to facilitate smooth logistics and customs clearance at these two ports.
As the first major project put to practice in China-Indonesia commercial agreements,IMIP is expected to offer a capacity of 2 million t/a of stainless steel slabs, generate annual sales up to USD 4~5 billion, create about 12,000 jobs after full completion in 2017 and attract more enterprises of deep stainless steel processing to settle in the Park.Increasing projects in the Park will drive IMIP’s development and the economic boom of surrounding areas,to substantially enhance reputations of Chinese enterprises in Indonesia.
