    Accountability

    The Material Manager is accountable to:

    • Identify and manage supply chain partners for materials required by H&M
    • Manage direct supply chain relations with fabric and yarn suppliers, and cotton traders
    • Consolidate and identify the best regional-level supplier base
    • Improve overall supplier performance and optimize communication effectiveness while delivering cost savings
    • Create options on all material in terms of price, speed, flexibility, sustainability and quality

    Main Responsibilities

    Secure Material Procurement: Price & Quality

    • Consolidate the requirement for material / quantity connected to the production strategy (short / long-term)
    • Guide the team in negotiating and finalizing the best deals with suppliers, and deliver cost savings and efficiency
    • Identify the right opportunities to buy and connect with garment suppliers
    • Drive the sustainable material strategy for the countries
    • Secure quality management and risk analysis as per brand requirements
    • Direct the team to source the right suppliers to develop yarn, fabrics and materials
    • Continuously encourage the team to create options on all kinds of materials with price effectiveness

     

    Supplier Relationship Management

    • Identify and manage supply chain partners for materials and components required by H&M
    • Manage direct supply chain relations with fabric & yarn suppliers, and cotton traders
    • Consolidate and identify the best regional-level supplier base
    • Improve overall supplier performance and optimize communication effectiveness while delivering cost savings

     

    Internal Communication & Cooperation

    • Maintain strong cooperation with global, merchandising and capacity teams for successful execution of the strategy
    • Work actively with other concerned teams in the countries to build a platform for material development and buying
    • Maintain cooperation with other Material Management teams in other countries
    • Understand trend information from the Buying Office/R&D team and direct teams to the right suppliers for the development of materials with price effectiveness
    • Share problems with the rest of the teams to improve and learn from our mistakes
    • Work actively with regard to talent identification, staff development and succession planning
    • Identify capability gaps (current and future) and work towards bridging these gaps through performance management, staff development, strategic recruitment, etc.  
    • Your responsibility is to lead your team by example, always driven by our values and the ambition to make people and business grow
    • As an H&M leader you should focus on inspiration, delegation, feedback and motivation (other elements of leadership are further described in the competencies relevant for your role)

     

    Education and Experience requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Textile Technology or Diploma in Textile (Technology/Chemistry) with a minimum of 10 years of working experience

    Knowledge and Skill requirements

    • Preferably experience from a similar role in strong production/manufacturing organizations
    • Experience in management positions & knowledge of Production
    • Good command of English
    • Able to use all Microsoft applications

    • Struktur organisasi perusahaan sudah baik dan tertata rapi. Peraturan perusahaan pun dibuat simpel sehingga tidak merepotkan para staff dan karyawannya.
    Cons
    • Pekerja di sini sopan santunnya sangatlah buruk, kata-kata yang dipakai sering terdengar kasar. Beban tinggi sehingga pekerja cepat stress. Kerja tidak kenal istirahat.
    • Sebaiknya atasan lebih peka lagi terhadap kebutuhan yang diperlukan di dalam tim-nya. Waktu kerja juga agar lebih diatur lagi agar pekerja tidak stress.
