Additionally, the role, as part of the executive leadership team, requires strategic business thinking beyond technology.   You should be comfortable in an open, fluid, fast-growth environment and bring an energetic and creative approach to your work, spanning high-level strategy as well as in-the-trenches execution.   GOALS: Establish the company’s technical vision and leads all aspects of the company’s technological development. Provide astute input to and be a productive part of the executive leadership team. Drive Technology Strategy and Direction in a way to make SociaBuzz more competitive in the marketplace – both from a product (external) and a talent acquisition (internal) perspective. Create a technology organization that, on its own, is considered a ‘Best Place To Work’.   RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategy & Market Apply a deep understanding of, and passion for online marketplace, its architecture, infrastructure, development techniques and related best practices. Monitor and assess technologies, tools and methodologies relevant to SociaBuzz’s mission and SLAs. Take a solution oriented approach to product development, looking at all alternatives for a solution. Maintain the technology strategy and ensure its alignment to business strategy. Operations Overall responsibility for: Product Development - including front end/backend development, architecture, quality, the development process, and release management. DevOps – including production and non-production infrastructure, provisioning and configuration management automation, application performance monitoring, security, scalability, and resiliency. Security Operations – including compliance, certifications, customer inquiries/Sales requests, audits, security policy, etc. related to the technology infrastructure. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, software development best practices, industry trends, emerging technologies, security protocols, and, particularly in the areas salient to our solutions; ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained organization-wide. Work closely with Product Management to ensure that SociaBuzz products are highly competitive in the marketplace, developed rapidly using the agreed upon methodology and to agreed specifications, and built with industry best practices. Leadership Work collaboratively with other executive team members around strategic planning and overall management of the company. Manage the staffing policies and processes for the teams reporting to you, including the recruitment and retention of top technology talent. Develop and refine team metrics and key performance indicators; plan and achieve quarterly and annual metrics and goals; report on progress to the executive team, board of directors, and company. Provide visibility into the development roadmap, sprints, throughput, expected timelines, etc. Develop deep and strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.   SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: The CTO will have a proven track record of successfully leading and driving commercial product development, architecture, and infrastructure activities that provide best in class product offerings and support.  You must be an excellent leader and communicator, passionate about building a world-class platform and a world-class organization and able to use technology as a key leverage point for the business. As part of the organizational leadership team, the CTO must be able to drive business strategy as well as technology strategy. BS in MIS or Computer Science or related field. MS/MBA preferred. 5+ years of experience leading and managing technology teams, commercial software preferred. Fluency with DevOps concepts and practices for a product in a public cloud environment – preferably in Amazon Web Services. Experience with, and preference for, leveraging open source solutions. Knowledge of Data Security, Secure Coding, Encryption, Multi-tenancy, Scalability, and High Availability. Proven successful experience in and implementation of an Agile/Post-Agile development environment. Proven experience to think and act strategically and proactively.
