This position is based at our Phu Kham Copper-Gold Operation, located approximately 120km north of the Lao capital, Vientiane. Phu Kham is a conventional open pit mine producing approximately 70,000 tonnes of copper concentrate annually. The process plant, upgraded to a design capacity of 19 million tonnes per annum, comprises a SAG mill and two ball mill grinding circuits, each rated at 13 mega watts, with copper and precious metal recovery by flotation. Reporting to the Occupational Health and Safety Superintendent, you will lead a small team responsible for coordinating the health and hygiene monitoring program for our operations in Laos, to an international standard. You will work with key production stakeholders to develop and maintain risk registers and ensure that appropriate health and hygiene monitoring and assessment is in place to mitigate risks to our employees and contractors. This is an exciting opportunity for a health and hygiene specialist to drive improvements and development the team to meet auditable mining standards.  Your key responsibilities will include: Continuously seek to reduce health risks and harm to employee and contractors Plan, schedule and supervise the operations of the Occupational Health and Hygiene (OHH) monitoring and assessment programs including deployment of personnel and resources to different sites Identify training needs of all teams and schedule appropriate training Provide exemplary leadership in safety ensuring compliance with all PBM safety requirements Prepare reports on OHH monitoring data and trends, assessing data against agreed exposure thresholds and limits Document events where action levels and exceeded limits are encountered and assist investigation of caused and identify appropriate corrective actions Ensure equipment used in the OHH monitoring and assessment programs is maintained in good condition, calibrated and that stocks of consumables are maintained To be successful in this role, you will require: Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline Membership of an occupational or industrial hygiene organisation desirable Proven supervisory experience in occupational health and hygiene, ideally gained in an in-house role within mining, oil and gas or manufacturing industries Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders Enjoy working in a team environment Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Ban Houayxai is an open cut mine with a Carbon in Leach (CIL) process plant, producing approximately 100,000 oz gold and 780,000 oz silver annually.   Our mobile maintenance department has seen some significant change in recent times with the appointment of Lao national Workshop Supervisors replacing positions previously held by expatriates. Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, you will be one of a few key expatriates responsible for working closely with the Lao Supervisors and Team Leaders to provide them with technical and leadership support in their new roles. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader, ideally with previous expatriate experience, to impart your knowledge and really make a difference and see the development of the mobile maintenance team as a direct result of your efforts. Your key responsibilities will include: Ensure effective compliance to the company health and safety systems Manage professional development and training for employees with particular focus on meeting Laos localisation and gender diversity objectives High quality budgets, forecasts, actual cost and physicals reporting utilising financial systems updated on a regular basis Ensure mobile maintenance operations deliver the required continuous improvement outcomes in a structured manner Lead your teams to ensure that PBM mobile maintenance operations maintain the present 5 star level under the Caterpillar contamination control program Liaise with equipment trainers and supervisors to ensure the equipment is operated within design parameters   To be successful in this role, you will require: Mechanical trade qualification “Fitter (Diesel & Heavy Earth Moving Equipment) Extensive experience in mobile equipment maintenance, including supervisory level positions with a large-multinational mining contractor, owner miner or OEM Recent hands on experience with late model Caterpillar, Atlas Copco and Komatsu Large Excavators mining equipment Strong understanding of modern maintenance systems, planning and scheduling processes Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills with strong commitment to supporting the growth of National employees Computer Management System (CMS) SAP experience preferred Previous expatriate experience in a developing country will be highly regarded Unwavering commitment to safety
